The aims of the AAC
The aim of the AURAK Alumni Club (AAC) is to strengthen the ties between alumni, the community, and the American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK). The AAC supports the university and its students by offering opportunities for strong alumni engagement, taking part in university activities, building a sense of community and pride among alumni, and strengthening the student-alumni relationship.
Who can join?
Membership: All AURAK graduates only.
General Body: The general body of the AAC consists of all voting members that form the supreme body of the Club.
Honorary Members: A person or establishment that offers or has the potential to offer an outstanding service or interest that may benefit the alumni of the American University of Ras Al Khaimah shall be eligible to become an honorary member after being proposed by the AAC Advisor and approved by the general body of the AAC. Any establishment that chooses to attend any of the meetings shall have only one vote regardless of the number of its representatives.
AAC Executive Members
The President is the Chief Executive of the general body, with the AAC Vice President as the Assistant Chief Executive. The secretary is in charge of the AAC records, and the treasurer will handle the finances. The public relations offices will help in outreach activity.
AURAK ALUMNI CLUB OFFICERS 2021-2022

Ms. Aamna AlShehhi
AAC President
Ms. Amna is the Head of the Emiratization and Talents Department at RAK Human Resources Department. She holds a Master degree in Educational Leadership from the American University in Ras Al-Khaimah, a Bachelor degree in Information Management from Higher Colleges of Technology and a Higher Diploma in Business and Technology Management from the Higher College of Technology. She is also a graduate of the UAE Government Leaders Program – Executive Leadership.
She has more than 10 years of experience in the field of human resources and other areas during which she held many positions: Director of Emiratization and Talents Department, Department of Human Resources, Government of Ras Al Khaimah, Head of the Department of Teacher Training and Acting Leaders of the Ministry of Education, Coordinator of Innovations Care and Information Technology Teacher at the Ministry of Education. Amna has received many appreciation awards, including the Ras Al Khaimah Government Excellence Award 2019 as an outstanding initiative leader, the Outstanding Performance Appraisal Award 2019, the Integrated Diploma in Future Foresight Award, Abu Dhabi Future Foresight Foundation 2020, and Ajman University’s Diploma in Institutional Innovation 2020.

Ms. Salwa Saeed Al Mauly
AAC Vice President
Ms. Salwa Graduated from AURAK with a bachelor’s degree in finance in 2021. Ms. Salwa began her career as a part-timer at AURAK as the Health and Safety Coordinator at the Center for Executive and Professional Education. She represents AURAK in the AURAK community as the AAC Vice President. With several projects designed for AURAK alumni she is embedded to assist in increasing AURAK’s external and internal graduate student employment and repute.

Mr. Abdul Basit Khan
AAC Treasurer
Mr. Abdul Basit is currently working as a software developer, he graduated from AURAK in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. He was the Founder & President of Technology Club at AURAK for 3 years and served as Chairman for IEEE AURAK Chapter which was later awarded as the Most Active Club of the Year. Abdul Basit also represented AURAK as an ambassador and was awarded for his efforts multiple times as Most Active Student of the Year & Volunteer of the Year. As the AAC Treasurer, Abdul Basit will contribute in the initiatives for AURAK alumni to enhance global competitiveness.

Dr. Khaled Al-Sabah
AAC PRO
Dr. Khaled Al-Sabah graduated from AURAK in 2015 with a Master degree in Education: Educational Leadership. He has more than 20 years of experience in teaching English Language in the public schools in the UAE. As the AURAK Alumni Club PRO, he is looking forward to organizing and supporting the AAC events and programs.

Ms. Dina Abdul-Aziz
AAC Secretary
Ms. Dina Abdul-Aziz graduated from AURAK in 2019 with a Bachelor degree of Science in Cell and Molecular Biotechnology. Currently, she is working at Gulf Pharmaceutical Industries in the Quality Control Department. As the Alumni Club Secretary, she looks forward to supporting the whole team with her creative skills.
